What is the Hottest Spice in the World?

Answer: The world’s hottest spice is the Red Savina Habanero. It has a rating of 350,000–570,000 on the Scoville scale (an index for measuring the hotness of chilies), compared with a score of 2,500–5,000 for the jalapeño.

Pay as you weigh

A buffet restaurant in China’s prosperous Guangzhou province recently introduced a new type of charging standard, reports the China Daily.

The restaurant requires children who are shorter than 140 centimetres to pay according to their weight. For example, a child who weighs 25 kilograms will be asked to pay 25 Yuan (US $3) while one who weighs 30 kilograms pay 30 Yuan. The provision has become popular with parents, especially of thinner children who now pay less than they otherwise would.
